ABOUT NIKOL

It’s not only textbook knowledge that creates my desire to help others. It’s my experiences. Skills and tools I’ve learned throughout my journey. I was born into a highly dysfunctional family. It took me many years, filled with chaos, motherhood at a young age and a failed marriage to finally realize that I was stuck in cycles of unfulfilling relationships. Dating with the same “patterns” only because of my unresolved issues from my childhood. Finally, I was ready to step on a journey of healing, self-awareness, self-discovery, and self-love. A journey that finally led me to a place where I am in tune with myself. As a woman with control issues, abandonment, rejection trauma and anxious attachment style. I struggled a lot in relationships, with lovers, family, and friends… So, I decided to dedicate time to making changes. I am now a certified Life and Relationship Coach, the Founder of the Polish Women Development Club, based in Chicago and author of “I Broke the Cycle,” a book about real change in one’s life. The best insight I have learned, however, I did not gain through educational courses or any books. It came from my first healthy relationship, which is currently my strongest inspiration for my work and everyday life. I would love to combine my education, with skills and experiences to provide you a unique approach that will help you transform your life.

Life coaching is a broad concept, but let me explain what specifically I do with my
clients.

During our sessions, we first get to know each other to determine if I am able to help you and if we feel connection. My work is based on various training in different methods, as well as my own life experience dealing with challenging circumstances and building self-esteem and self- love from scratch.

Many of the tools I use were tested on myself during my own transformation. However, all the work begins with building self-awareness. I believe that we all can build healthy relationships, but in order to attract the right partner, we need to become the right partner first. My relationship coaching is primarily based on the Gottman Method.

It took me 10 years to reach a point of satisfaction in life. During that time, I failed many times and made many mistakes. At some point, I realized that I kept thinking, “If only I had met someone like me earlier, I could have achieved my goals so much faster.”

My coaching is action focused. I realized that just talking therapy doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why I’ve blended different methods, adding my own experience and knowledge to create a solution that brings lasting results.

Loving yourself means accepting all parts of yourself, even the ones you don’t
necessarily like. In the process of learning self-compassion, we must look at all parts of ourselves, including those parts we may want to ignore or simply don’t like. This awareness shifts your perspective.
We often find that the ways we’ve adapted to survive in childhood—such as dissociation, people-pleasing, or perfectionism—are no longer serving us. Once we bring these behaviors to awareness, we can build self-love and begin to heal past wounds.
That’s why you need a coach: to guide you through this process, keep you accountable, and help shift your mindset toward confidence and success.

If you want to find the right partner, you need to become the right partner first. You will only attract the treatment you think you deserve. Most of our decisions, including picking someone for a second date, come from our subconscious. We’re wired for survival, which is why we often choose what is familiar, even if it’s bad, over something unfamiliar that might be good. Familiar is something I already know. Even if it was painful, I survived it, so there’s a good chance I will survive it again. When something is unfamiliar, our brain reads it as potential danger: the unknown.

This is how evolution wired us, and it’s how our population survived. But life is no longer only about survival. We want to live our lives to the fullest. We want real connections, real support, real joy, little love, and satisfaction. That’s why we need to do the work first: the work on ourselves. In many cases, what’s familiar is not the best option. So many of us grew up in emotionally unsafe environments. We soaked it all up like sponges and created coping mechanisms for unmet childhood needs. The problem is, these coping mechanisms may have helped at some point during childhood, but in adult life, they often get in the way of forming real connections.

This is why we do any type of coaching: to bring the subconscious to the conscious, and with proper guidance and tools, start creating our life our way, instead of being a victim of things and partners “happening” to us.

I believe that knowledge and tools are one thing, but the real progress you’ll make
